Prof. Heinz Werner

MEISSEN® gathered a group of young artists together in the 1960s who went on to draft a wholly original decorative and formal vocabulary – and transported their House of Tradition into modernity. A key part in this was played by the porcelain artist Professor Heinz Werner (born 1928), known for trend-setting patterns such as “Arabian Nights” or “Blue Orchid”. In the field of studio porcelains, Werner produced a rich and varied range of works, many of which immediately found their way onto the international market. From 1979, Heinz Werner supplemented his artistic activities for the Manufactory with lecturing at the College for Industrial Design in Halle.
